Yet, despite its tremendous commercial success, the critical response to the novel has been mixed, and the book has often fallen prey to censorship. This is an all-time classic. It explores prejudice, discrimination, more specifically the condition of black people in the U.S. in the early 21st century. The story is set in the Great Depression and is based on a real case.
回覆刪除The writer succeeds in making the characters in the story real, the plot logical.
The book has had very positive reception. One of the major reasons, in my opnion, is the rational optimism, delivered in the best kind of writing, of the book on an issue that concerned every reader.
It also gives me insight on how one could face and handle a societal failure, a perennial issue that concerns everyone who aspires and cares.
